Dusting without damaging paint

Clean little and often. A two-minute pass every fortnight is safer than a deep clean twice a year, because dust that has bonded needs moisture and friction to remove.

Sunlight, heat and humidity

Keep pieces out of direct sun and away from radiators, and aim for stable humidity rather than a specific number. Rapid swings do more damage than a steady level at either end.

Cleaning painted and clear surfaces
